Howdy there, Highballers! I’d like to take this opportunity to remind you that while the Highball is definitely a playground for adults, we’re also an educational institution. We love teaching our guests culinary and cocktail appreciation, not to mention the science of karaoke, the physics of bowling and the art of dance. This month, we’re offering some great options for academic enrichment, including our local beer tasting on October 16th. We’ve invited (512), Jester King, Circle and Live Oak to bring rare and special brews to share with you, and just one look at the beer list will convince you to enroll in Highball University immediately. Continuing the geekery, we’ve got nerdcore superstar MC Frontalot lined up for October 21, and his lyrics are straight up food for your brain. So grab your smarty pants and quench your thirst for knowledge at the Highball, where it always feels like recess.

Whether you want to whip it or do the safety dance, you’ll feel like you’re walking on sunshine, because Action Pack parties are simply irresistible. So join us every Friday, because we’ve got the beat, and we’ll be right here waiting for you.
Splice three parts musical chops and two parts ‘we don’t give a f*ck’ with an unabashed affection for catchy songs in all their cheesy, head-banging, sing-along glory, then turn the whole mess up to 11. That’s Karaoke Apocalypse with The Dead Motley Sex Maidens. With an ever growing catalog of punk, rock, and hair metal classics from the ’70s and ’80s — from “Suffragette City” to “Run to the Hills” to “I Wanna Be Your Dog” and more – the Sex Maidens transform civilians into rock stars in three magic minutes.

If it weren’t for nerdcore, us geeks might still be stuck writing Star Wars fanfic or drawing terrible imitations of our favorite comics. Thanks to pioneers like MC Frontalot, we’ve got a whole new genre of music that lets us geek out in the coolest way possible. The Highball is honored to welcome MC Frontalot, the man who actually coined the term “nerdcore,” back to our stage for a raging night of rhymes, beats and video game references. Enjoy performances from Doug Funnie and Brandon Patton, then prepare to be blown away by the self-proclaimed “world’s 579th greatest rapper.”
