A Nice Day for a White Wedding Photo Shoot

Posted March 04, 2010 under Uncategorized.

You know The Highball as a venue to drink, party, bowl, karaoke and grab some delicious diner dishes. Now, photographers and filmmakers are using their vision to use the venue as a backdrop for their creative projects. In doing so, they’ve found a new way to enjoy and take The Highball to another level.

Jessica Monnich shot a vivid and striking rockabilly wedding photo shoot a few weeks ago. Her explanation of her concept is a classic case of using the world around her to shape an image.

“In keeping with the vintage theme we did a place setting in the color scheme of the shoot using fiestaware which was popular during that time period,” said Monnich. “We thought Wizard of Oz Pez dispensers would be fun as that was a popular movie during that time. We also had mock cakes made up for the shoot that had a very rockabilly feel to them as well. The “bride” carried a lotus flower surrounded by sweet peas and the “bridesmaids” carried a combination of flowers including pink sweet peas and poppies.”

Check the link below to see the gorgeous images from the shoot, as well as Wild Orchid Studios’ video shoot that accompanied the event.
