In the mid-20th century, diners dotted the American landscape, offering patrons the chance to sit down to a quick and easy meal of comfort food, all prepared by chefs working directly behind the counter where they’d sit. The Highball maintains that open kitchen philosophy, but updates the concept of comfort food with an emphasis on quality ingredients and creative re-imaginings of classic dishes created by executive chef Trish Eichelberger. Whenever possible, all of our ingredients are procured locally and prepared fresh daily, even down to the hand-cut French fries and Onion Rings.
Trish cut her teeth at the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema preparing some of the most memorable and award-winning feasts at South Lamar and the Ritz. Recently, Trish has prepared a five course meal of French classics for author Julie Powell at the feast premiere of Julie and Julia, and a German feast for Quentin Tarantino at the Inglourious Basterds premiere. She is incredibly excited about transitioning over to The Highball, and plans on creating rotating seasonal specials to supplement the daily menu.
The Highball is also pleased to announce our happy hour special, running Monday through Friday, 4:30-7:00. During happy hour, patrons get FREE KARAOKE in one of our private rooms. Also, during happy hour we offer $2 Lone Stars, $2 Pints or $4 Well Drinks. That’s something to cheers about.
