Sunday, May 30, 5-7pm
You’re cordially invited to the Texas Motion Picture Alliance’s Monthly Central Texas Meeting/Mixer at The Highball in Austin on Sunday, May 30 from 5-7pm. Please join us for this free industry event, and encourage your friends and colleagues to attend as well.
THIS MONTH:
• ANNUAL INCENTIVES REPORT & TEXAS TV UPDATE
• GREEN SET AUSTIN & SUSTAINABLE FILMMAKING
We’ll be giving a major incentives report, detailing the results of the first full year of our new production incentives program, which has been a big success – most notably in more than doubling the amount of primetime network television series production in Texas. Get the latest on the unprecedented five TV shows shooting in Texas this year: THE GOOD GUYS and LONE STAR (FOX), CHASE and FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS (NBC), andMY GENERATION (ABC) – the latter two of which are based right here in Austin. Our incentives are working, and putting Texans to work!
Also, Marjorie Eber from GREEN SET AUSTIN (the new eco-division of Miscellaneous Rentals) will join us to talk about sustainable, environmentally-friendly filmmaking, and discuss her recent experiences working with the Coen Bros.’ TRUE GRIT here in Central Texas. As an art department coordinator, Eber has worked on such projects as HBO’s “Flight of the Conchords” and BRÜNO, and as a production coordinator she has worked on many national commercials for companies such as Anonymous Content and clients such as Nike and Honda. So please join us a week from Sunday, and RSVP on our Facebook Event page at http://bit.ly/txh530 (and join our Facebook Group at http://bit.ly/txmpaf)
